Are you a driven and passionate person, who can see opportunities for our town’s development? New to Listowel, and eager to meet new friends, neighbours and colleagues?
Do you want to be part of a close-knit and vibrant community, develop yourself, make friends and connections, and contribute to groups and organisations of international renown?
If you answered yes to any of the above, then volunteering in Listowel is for you.
As an Uachtarán na hÉireann, Michael D Higgins, said above, Listowel has received national and international acknowledgement for its vibrant voluntary sector. Listowel Writers’ Week, one of the world’s oldest, most successful and most unique book festivals, is largely driven, managed and directed by volunteers, most of which are local Listowel people.
Listowel Tidy Towns, which won, for Listowel, best small town in Ireland at Tidy Towns, 2018, is an exclusively volunteer-led initiative. Tidy Towns is an example of how local volunteers, working collectively as neighbours and friends, can achieve remarkable things.
Other voluntary organisations that help foster our famed community spirit in Listowel, include Listowel Military Tattoo event, Ard Chúram Choir, Listowel Mens Shed, and of course Listowel Business and Community Alliance, whose three groups (retail, marketing, and finance) massively benefit from the contributions and insights of volunteers.
Listowel has a thriving economy, fantastic community spirit, and world-renowned arts scene, so please help us keep it that way by volunteering for our many fantastic voluntary groups and organisations.
