The Shebeen

A shebeen (Irish: síbín) was originally an illicit bar or club where excisable alcoholic beverages were sold without a licence.

The Shebeen is a friendly, family-run licenced bar where you’ll always meet a member of the family and receive the warmest of welcomes.

A traditional Irish pub with a relaxed atmosphere it has occupied a central site in Listowel for over 100 years. A great venue to meet the loyal and regular clientele, enjoy some big characters, good conversation and, dare we say, a bit of Irish blarney!

The Shebeen provide big screen coverage of Terrestrial TV Sport. And enjoy a classic ’70’s and ’80’s soundtrack.

It is also a great place for local groups, clubs and societies to host quizzes and charity evenings.

The Shebeen welcomes families and children. There is an Outdoor Beer Garden and all occasions can be catered for – please enquire for details.
