Ladies Days, throughout Ireland and the UK, provide the pinnacle of the social calendar and a chance to really dress to impress!

Listowel boasts two Ladies Days each year - one during the Harvest Festival Race Meeting in September and sponsored for over 20 years by Chic Boutique Listowel and one during the Summer Festival in June sponsored by the Business People of Listowel.

A staple for summer in Listowel, they are fast becoming the event for locals, celebrities and visitors to our town to mix and be seen.

Whether you want to strut your stuff at the bookies, sip champagne on the Racecourse and around town or simply parade your flair for on-trend fashion Ladies Days in Listowel are guaranteed to be filled with fun and frolics!

Attracting extensive media and press coverage, crowds in excess of 25,000 provide a fabulous visual feast as the runners and riders share the limelight with some of the best dressed Ladies in the country.

There is no formal entry procedure but be on the Racecourse in plenty of time - the Judges simply wander through the crowds. The 15 chosen finalists are invited to a Champagne Reception in the Marquee and the opportunity to talk through the gorgeous fashion on display.

Summer Festival 2013

The Summer Festival’s third Ladies Day offered a Total Prize Fund of €5000 sponsored by the Business People of Listowel.

The winning contestant was Nollaig McCarthy, an air hostess, who wore a timeless black and ivory ensemble.

Chosen for her polished finish and elegant grooming, Nollaig purchased her dress on a trip to the USA - her hat was a Betty Barclay number, the bolero from Debenhams and her accessories were purchased in Footprints Boutique, Listowel.

The winner and runners-up were chosen by a Panel of Judges headed by Marietta Doran.

Harvest Festival 2012

Judged by Celia Holman-Lee and Daithi O’Shea, the prize of a €2000 spending spree and a limited edition Olive Stack print were sponsored by Chic Boutique Listowel. Prizes were awarded for 2nd and 3rd and all 15 finalists received a Goodies Bag to the value of €150 and a bottle of champagne.
